Everything you need to know about selling your magazine collection.
Why was my submission rejected? ▾
Because we cover 100% of the freight costs on every accepted collection, we have to be highly selective about what we take in. If the shipping cost is higher than the wholesale value of the collection, we have to pass — it's simple math, not a judgment on your magazines. We also pass on collections that don't match our current inventory needs, regardless of condition. Please review our What We Don't Buy page before submitting.
How does shipping work, and who pays for it? ▾
We pay 100% of the freight. Once your collection is accepted, we email you prepaid UPS or USPS labels. You pack the magazines securely into boxes, attach the labels, and drop them off. There are zero out-of-pocket shipping costs to you. For guidance on how to pack properly, see our Packing and Shipping Guide.
Do you offer free appraisals? ▾
No. We only evaluate collections that are actively being submitted for a wholesale buyout. We do not provide retail appraisals for insurance purposes, estate valuations, or eBay pricing research. If that is what you need, we recommend contacting a certified rare book and periodical appraiser.
What condition do the magazines need to be in? ▾
We buy collections ranging from Fair to Pristine condition. However, we do not buy magazines with severe water damage, heavy mold, missing covers, or significant structural damage. If your collection has some wear but is otherwise intact, submit it — condition issues don't automatically disqualify you.
Do you buy magazines with mailing labels on the covers? ▾
Yes, we do. While original subscriber mailing labels can slightly reduce value for certain high-end collectors, they do not disqualify your collection from receiving a buyout offer. Submit what you have and let us evaluate it.
Do you photograph my magazines before submitting them? ▾
Photographing your magazines is not required, but it helps us move faster. Clear photos give us a preliminary look at condition and content before we request a shipment. We have a photography guide to make it easy: Sell Old Magazines Photo Guide.
Do you pick up large collections? ▾
For massive collections — entire estates, warehouse liquidations, or thousands of issues — we occasionally arrange local freight pickups depending on location and collection value. For standard collections, you will need to be able to pack them into boxes for UPS shipping. Contact us through our contact form to discuss large collection logistics.
How will I get paid? ▾
After we receive and inspect your magazines, we offer payment via check, Venmo, or PayPal. Venmo and PayPal payments are typically processed the same day. Checks are issued and mailed via USPS the same or next business day with tracking. Note: payment is based on the condition of magazines as received — not as described or photographed prior to shipment.
Do you buy items besides magazines? ▾
Yes. We are always interested in unique collections — from vinyl records to vintage video games. Tell us what you have using our contact form.
