Sell Your Old Collier’s Magazines (1950s and Older)
Welcome to SellOldMagazines.com—a trusted destination for the careful and selective review of vintage magazine collections. If you have original issues of Collier’s magazine, especially from the 1950s or earlier, your collection may qualify for review. As a historic publication known for its illustrated covers and wide-ranging editorial content, Collier’s occupies a meaningful place in American print history.
We are currently reviewing select Collier’s magazine collections that meet our general buying guidelines.
A Note to Sellers
We highly appreciate all our visitors and their interest in selling vintage magazines. However, we do have specific guidelines for what we can buy. Generally, we refrain from purchasing items dated after the 1990s, though there are some exceptions. We also prefer not to acquire individual magazines, as shipping costs can be prohibitive for small transactions. Our preference is to review collections that are large enough to be boxed or suitable for in-person pickup.
Even with the steady interest in our services, we are only able to consider select materials. We’re looking for rare, well-preserved items that align with our buying criteria. For certain publications, we prefer magazines without mailing labels.
About Collier’s Magazine
Originally launched in 1888, Collier’s Weekly was one of the most widely read general-interest magazines in America through the first half of the 20th century. Known for its serialized fiction, investigative journalism, and distinctive illustrated covers, the magazine served as both a mirror and molder of public thought—especially in the years surrounding the World Wars and postwar cultural shifts. The magazine ceased publication in 1957.
We Are Most Likely to Review:
Pre-1957 U.S. Editions (Publication ended in 1957)
Issues in Very Good Condition (No Water Damage, Mold, or Missing Pages)
Boxed Collections of 10 or More Issues
Cover Art with Notable Illustrations or Historical Themes
Copies Without Mailing Labels Strongly Preferred
What We’re Looking For
Our review process considers multiple factors before a collection is accepted for purchase. Please note:
Era: We focus primarily on Collier’s magazines published before 1957.
Condition: Magazines must be intact and clean, without excessive wear, missing pages, water damage, mold, or strong odors.
Mailing Labels: For display-heavy publications like Collier’s, issues without mailing labels—especially those that obscure cover art—are preferred.
Volume: We do not purchase individual magazines. Submissions should contain 10 or more issues, ideally boxed and ready for shipping or pickup.
Content Consideration: While some issues may feature artwork or editorial themes of interest, content alone does not determine value. Condition and volume are equally critical.
Please keep in mind that the resale of vintage magazines is a niche market. Only submissions that meet our combined standards for era, completeness, and preservation will be considered.
