About Heavy Metal Magazine
First published in 1977 as the U.S. version of the French magazine Métal Hurlant, Heavy Metal quickly established itself as a showcase for high-concept science fiction, dark fantasy, and avant-garde illustration. With contributions from influential artists like Moebius, Richard Corben, and H.R. Giger, the magazine gained a loyal readership for its adult storytelling, surreal visuals, and underground aesthetic. It also inspired the 1981 animated cult film of the same name.

What We’re Looking For
We appreciate all inquiries, but only a select number of Heavy Metal collections qualify for resale consideration. Please review the following criteria:
Era: We primarily review issues from the late 1970s through the 1990s. Later issues are accepted only if part of a larger boxed lot.
Condition: All magazines must be in very good condition—free from torn pages, major creasing, stains, or moisture damage.
Mailing Labels: We prefer label-free copies, especially when the artwork is a significant part of the magazine’s visual appeal.
Quantity: We do not accept single issues. Submissions should include 10 or more magazines, boxed for shipping or available for local pickup.
Art and Story Content: Issues containing early or iconic artwork, graphic novel serializations, or special anniversary editions may receive additional attention—but inclusion does not guarantee purchase.
While Heavy Metal holds unique appeal for collectors of graphic art and mature comics, resale remains a selective process based on condition, volume, and publication era.
