Sell Your Old MAD Magazines
Welcome to SellOldMagazines.com—a trusted resource for the selective review of vintage magazine collections. If you have old issues of MAD magazine, particularly from the 1950s through the 1980s, your collection may qualify for review. As one of the most iconic humor publications in American history, MAD helped define satire for generations.
We are currently reviewing select MAD Magazine collections that meet our general buying guidelines.
About MAD Magazine
First published in 1952, MAD began as a comic book before transitioning into a magazine format with issue #24. Created by editor Harvey Kurtzman and publisher William Gaines, MAD became known for its irreverent satire, parody articles, movie and TV spoofs, and the ever-present face of Alfred E. Neuman. Through the 1960s and 1970s, MAD became a cultural touchstone, skewering everything from politics and pop culture to advertising and consumerism.
We are most likely to review:
1950s–1980s U.S. Editions
Earlier Issues (#1–100), Especially Pre-1960s
Magazines in Very Good Condition with No Missing Pages or Heavy Damage
Boxed Collections of 15+ Issues Preferred
Copies Without Mailing Labels Strongly Preferred
What We’re Looking For
We appreciate all submissions, but MAD magazine collections must meet specific criteria to be considered:
Era: We primarily review issues from the 1950s through the 1980s. Later editions may be considered as part of a larger lot.
Condition: Magazines must be in very good condition—no torn pages, water damage, mold, or excessive wear.
Mailing Labels: We prefer issues without mailing labels, especially when they affect cover visuals.
Quantity: We do not purchase single issues. Submissions should include 15 or more magazines, ideally boxed and ready for shipping or pickup.
Special Editions or Early Printings: Early issues, first printings, and milestone parodies may be reviewed with extra attention, though content alone does not guarantee purchase.
Despite MAD’s broad cultural relevance, resale is limited to well-preserved collections that meet our combined standards for age, condition, and volume.
