Sell Your Old BB (Black Beat) Magazines
Welcome to SellOldMagazines.com—your professional resource for reviewing vintage magazine collections. If you have older issues of BB (Black Beat) magazine, particularly from the 1980s through the early 2000s, your collection may qualify for review. Known for its coverage of R&B, hip-hop, and Black pop culture, Black Beat offered fans a vibrant mix of music, fashion, and celebrity news.

We are currently reviewing select Black Beat magazine collections that meet our general buying guidelines.

About Black Beat Magazine

Launched as a sister publication to Right On!, Black Beat rose to prominence in the 1980s and 1990s by focusing on Black entertainers in music, television, and film. With an emphasis on pinups, artist profiles, and behind-the-scenes features, Black Beat was a favorite among fans of R&B, hip-hop, and emerging urban talent. It captured the energy of a culture in motion—connecting readers to the stars of their generation.

We most often review:

  • 1980s–Early 2000s U.S. Editions

  • Covers Featuring Major R&B, Hip-Hop, or Pop Artists

  • Issues with Original Posters or Centerfolds Still Attached

  • Boxed Collections in Very Good Condition

  • Copies Without Mailing Labels, When Possible

What We’re Looking For

While we welcome all submissions, we follow specific criteria to determine which Black Beat collections we can consider:

  • Era: We primarily review issues published before the mid-2000s. More recent issues are rarely accepted.

  • Condition: Magazines must be in very good condition—no missing pages, water damage, mold, or excessive wear.

  • Mailing Labels: We prefer magazines without mailing labels, especially when labels affect the front cover.

  • Quantity: We do not purchase individual issues. Submissions must include 15 or more magazines, boxed or suitable for pickup.

  • Posters/Pinups: Issues with intact inserts or collectible layouts may be prioritized, though this does not guarantee acceptance.

Please note that although Black Beat holds cultural significance, resale is a niche market, and only a small portion of submitted collections meet the necessary standards.

How to Sell Your Black Beat Magazine Collection

If your collection meets the above criteria, you may begin by submitting a quote form. Please include clear photos showing the front covers, visible publication dates, and overall condition of your magazines. If your submission qualifies, we will follow up with packing instructions or coordinate a local pickup if appropriate.

We do not appraise or guarantee purchases, but we’re happy to review qualifying collections.
