Sell Your Old GQ Magazines

Sell Your Old GQ Magazines
Welcome to SellOldMagazines.com—a trusted resource for the careful review of vintage magazine collections. If you have older issues of GQ (formerly Gentlemen’s Quarterly), particularly those from before the 1990s, you are welcome to submit your collection for consideration. Known for its focus on men’s fashion, culture, and lifestyle, GQ has chronicled decades of trends and editorial shifts in the men’s publishing space.

We’re currently reviewing select GQ magazine collections that meet our general buying criteria.

About GQ Magazine

GQ began in 1931 as Apparel Arts, a trade publication for men’s clothing retailers. It evolved into Gentlemen’s Quarterly in the late 1950s and was rebranded simply as GQ in 1967. The magazine became widely known for blending sharp fashion content with features on politics, music, sports, and film—frequently showcasing prominent male celebrities and cultural figures on its covers.

Submissions of interest typically include:

  • 1950s–1980s Editions

  • Issues with Fashion Photography, Grooming Guides, or Cultural Commentary

  • Celebrity Covers and Men’s Lifestyle Features

  • Lots of Magazines in Strong Physical Condition

  • Issues With Minimal or No Mailing Labels

What We’re Looking For

We appreciate all seller interest but follow specific criteria when evaluating submissions. Due to shipping logistics and market factors, we are unable to purchase every collection.

  • Date Range: We primarily consider GQ issues published before the 1990s. Some exceptions may apply, but more recent magazines are generally not reviewed.

  • Condition: All magazines must be in very good condition, with no missing pages, mold, water damage, or excessive wear.

  • Mailing Labels: We prefer magazines without mailing labels, especially for titles like GQ where cover presentation matters.

  • Quantity: We typically do not accept single issues. We look for lots of 15 or more, boxed and ready for shipment or pickup.

  • Cover Content: Magazines with notable cultural figures, fashion spreads, or special editions may be considered—but their inclusion does not guarantee a purchase.

Because GQ was widely circulated, only a small percentage of vintage issues align with the specific conditions needed for resale. We review each submission carefully based on our internal standards and current capacity.

How to Sell Your GQ Magazine Collection

If your collection aligns with our guidelines, start by submitting a quote form. Be sure to include several clear images of your GQ issues—highlighting covers, visible dates, and any relevant details. If your collection qualifies, we will follow up with instructions for packaging and shipping, or arrange a local pickup if applicable.

We do not appraise or guarantee purchases, but we’re happy to review qualifying collections.
