Sell Your Old Jet Magazines
Welcome to SellOldMagazines.com—a trusted platform for the careful review of vintage magazine collections. If you have old issues of Jet magazine, especially from before the 1990s, your collection may qualify for submission. Known for its compact format and wide-ranging cultural coverage, Jet played a key role in documenting Black American life across decades.
We are currently reviewing select Jet magazine collections that meet our general buying criteria.
About Jet Magazine
Launched in 1951 by John H. Johnson, Jet magazine quickly became a cornerstone of Black media. Known for its small, digest-sized format, Jet featured news, entertainment, politics, civil rights, and lifestyle stories. It provided national coverage of events and personalities often overlooked by mainstream media—and gained a loyal readership through both serious journalism and popular culture features.
Collections we may consider often include:
1950s–1980s U.S. Editions
Issues Featuring Civil Rights Events, Historic News, or Cultural Commentary
Covers Highlighting Entertainers, Activists, or Political Figures
Grouped Magazines in Very Good Physical Condition
Editions with No Mailing Labels or Minimal Wear
What We’re Looking For
We appreciate all interest in selling vintage magazines. However, we follow specific criteria when determining which Jet collections we’re able to review:
Publication Date: We primarily review issues published before the 1990s. Post-1990 editions are generally not accepted.
Condition: Magazines must be in very good condition—no missing pages, mold, water damage, or excessive handling wear.
Mailing Labels: For Jet, we prefer copies without mailing labels, or with labels that are minimally intrusive.
Quantity: We do not buy single issues. We focus on boxed collections of 25 or more, or lots suitable for local pickup.
Cover or Content Relevance: Topics such as civil rights coverage, music, and political milestones are often of interest, but content alone does not guarantee acceptance.
Please note: While Jet holds strong cultural value, resale is a niche and selective market. Only a small number of submitted collections will meet the combination of factors—age, condition, and volume—required for purchase.
How to Sell Your Jet Magazine Collection
To get started, submit a quote request along with several clear photographs showing representative covers, visible dates, and overall condition. If your collection aligns with our buying needs, we will follow up with instructions for packaging or arrange a local pickup when appropriate.
We do not appraise or guarantee purchases, but we’re happy to review qualifying collections.
