Sell Your Old Black Belt Magazines
Welcome to SellOldMagazines.com—your trusted platform for the professional and selective review of vintage magazine collections. If you have older issues of Black Belt magazine, especially from the 1960s through the 1980s, your collection may qualify for review. As one of the longest-running martial arts publications in the world, Black Belt chronicled decades of martial arts history, philosophy, and technique.

We are currently reviewing select Black Belt magazine collections that meet our general buying guidelines.

About Black Belt Magazine

Black Belt magazine was first published in 1961 and quickly became the authoritative source for martial arts in the West. It featured interviews with prominent martial artists, coverage of global styles (karate, taekwondo, judo, kung fu, aikido, and more), training methods, tournament results, and self-defense philosophy. The magazine gained additional attention in the 1970s during the martial arts boom, with features on Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, and other icons of the discipline.

We are most likely to review:

  • 1960s–1980s U.S. Editions

  • Issues Featuring Martial Arts Legends or Early Technique Features

  • Magazines in Very Good Condition with No Missing Pages

  • Collections of 10 or More, Boxed or Bundled

  • Copies Without Mailing Labels Preferred

What We’re Looking For

We appreciate all submissions, but only a limited number of Black Belt magazine collections meet the criteria necessary for review:

  • Era: We primarily consider Black Belt issues from the 1960s through the 1980s. Later editions may be reviewed as part of a larger lot.

  • Condition: All magazines must be in very good condition—no mold, water damage, excessive wear, or torn pages.

  • Mailing Labels: We prefer copies without mailing labels, especially when labels obscure the cover image or headlines.

  • Quantity: We do not accept single-issue submissions. Submissions must include 10 or more magazines, ideally boxed for shipping or prepared for pickup.

  • Feature Content: Issues featuring Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Ed Parker, or coverage of early martial arts tournaments may be reviewed with interest, though inclusion alone does not guarantee purchase.

Even for respected and long-running titles like Black Belt, resale potential is limited. Only collections meeting our standards for condition, volume, and publication era will qualify.
