Sell Your Old Fortune Magazines

Welcome to SellOldMagazines.com—a trusted platform for the careful and selective review of vintage magazine collections. If you possess original issues of Fortune magazine, particularly from the 1930s through the 1970s, your collection may qualify for review. As a publication that has chronicled the evolution of American business and industry, Fortune offers valuable insights into the economic and cultural landscape of its time.

We are currently reviewing select Fortune magazine collections that meet our general buying guidelines.

About Fortune Magazine

Foun1ded in 1929 by Henry Luce, Fortune magazine was launched in February 1930, just months after the Wall Street Crash. Luce envisioned it as a “distinguished and de luxe” publication that would vividly portray, interpret, and record the Industrial Civilization . Known for its in-depth reporting, literary quality, and striking visual design, Fortune set itself apart from other business publications of its time.

The magazine featured contributions from renowned writers and photographers, including James Agee, Walker Evans, and Margaret Bourke-White . Its large format and rich illustrations made it a visual standout, while its articles provided comprehensive analyses of industries, companies, and economic trends.

Fortune is also known for its annual rankings, such as the Fortune 500, which lists the top U.S. companies by revenue—a tradition that began in 1955.

What We’re Looking For

While we appreciate all interest, Fortune magazine submissions must meet the following criteria for consideration:

  • Era: We primarily review issues from the 1930s through the 1970s. Later editions may be considered as part of a larger boxed lot.

  • Condition: Magazines must be in very good condition—free from torn pages, significant wear, mold, or water damage.

  • Mailing Labels: We prefer label-free covers, especially when labels obscure logos or cover art.

  • Quantity: We do not purchase individual issues. Submissions should include 10 or more, boxed for shipment or prepared for in-person pickup.

  • Content: Issues featuring significant business events, economic milestones, or profiles of prominent figures may enhance reviewability but do not guarantee acceptance.

Even for esteemed publications like Fortune, resale remains a niche market. Only collections that meet our combined standards for condition, completeness, and volume are considered.
